Pretty embroidered dresses always remind me of my childhood growing up in the 70’s, and I found myself getting quite nostalgic when I came across these beauties from UK label Apolina.
Owner Caroline started Apolina when she discovered the lack of bohemian inspired clothing available for her two young daughters. Having worked in the fashion industry for the past decade, and with manufacturing contacts, she set to work designing free-spirited pieces for like minded mamas.
The first thing that struck me about these pieces was the beautiful colours: soft green and pinks, cream, brown and blue, all of which can be beautifully mixed and matched with the bloomers, bonnets and waist coats. Cool for summer or layer them up with tights and cardigans in the autumn and winter months.
Apolina embraces the idea of slow fashion, and each item is unique due to the hand finishing of the garment and the free-hand machine embroidery. Because of this all garments are produced in limited numbers through ‘small batch’ production. To view the full collection and enquire about stockist head over to the Apolina website.
